FINAL PORTOFLIO IMAGES

After taking the 16 personalities quiz it told me I was an ENTJ (Commander), who is a natural-born leader.  Also stating how I see the bigger picture, identify my long-term goals, and creating efficient plans to achieve them. That I have an ability to organize people and resources to create order out of chaos, rational decision skills, that will allow me to navigate situations with ease. My communication is a strength and challenge, as I express my thoughts clearly often coming off as blunt. I value efficient above all else which makes me impatient with those who don’t meet my high standards. I always look for ways to improve systems, processes, and people, I see potential, but it often leads me struggle with mundane tasks if they don’t align with my visions.

I would have to agree with these statements as I am very precise on how I act in school or in public areas trying to be calm, so I won’t have to stress or put stress onto others. I volunteer at my church’s cafe where I am a leader, even though I am the youngest. By the qualities listed I would say it is accurate as I often navigate unsatisfied customers and manage the chaos even when understaffed in a collected order. Not only do other volunteers look up to me but customers admire my efficiency as I take up most cafe position to minimize the stress of other volunteers and attend church attendees in an efficient and quick way. A reason why I also don’t like group projects is because I know my strengths and skills and if someone isn’t better than me or “same level” I get impatient as I always have high standards in what I turn in.

I feel this way as immigrants are treated inhumane although they help contribute to the economy and are the ones behind labor work with low wage. I believe that if the citizenship process was easier and more efficient it would be this wouldn’t be such a violent, ongoing protest. Being a Hispanic I feel that my perspective is biased as I have more sympathy for immigrants as I know how much they have sacrificed for a better future for family or themselves. The other side may call them names and slurs and go on about how they are criminals or overall bad people, but it is also important to recognize every ethnicity/culture has flawed people so it shouldn’t impact the whole group.

Rene Magritte

This surrealism by Rene Magritte really stood out to me as there could be multiple interpretation. As the couple kiss this is surrealism as they aren’t even pressing lips considering the fact that a piece of cloth covers them. When I saw this image, I automatically thought of sincerity as they kiss even with closure, creating an idea of love being far from physical attraction but true feelings from the heart where our eyes do not need to see the partner but just being with them is enough.

IB Questions

  1. What are aperture, shutter speed and ISO?

Aperture is the size of the lens opening; shutter speed helps show or freeze motion. ISO shows how sensitive the camera sensor is.

2.When would you need to change your ISO?

You would need to change our ISO for a bright day, nighttime, indoors or at a concert/game.

  1. What is aperture and shutter priority settings?

Aperture is good for a blurry/sharp background and shutter priority helps freeze action or motion blur.

4.What are AF modes how do you change them?

AF modes are to control the camera focus.

5. Why do your need to meter the light to get the right exposure?

It can help determine how right the scene will be so you can expose the scene without having dark highlights/shadows.

6. What is the difference between a normal, wide angle and telephoto lens?

The difference between all three is that a normal lens will have a natural perspective. Wide angles will help capture a scene and a telephoto zooms in.

7. What is white balance and why would you need to change it?

White balance helps adjust the colors your cameras see to avoid color cast.

8. What is the depth of field and what is the difference between shallow and good?

Depth of field is the focus in the background It shows if the image is really in focus, shallow is small focus with a blurry background and good is everything is sharp.

9. What are drive modes and metering modes?

Drive mode is the number of photos the camera takes with the shutter press. Metering mode helps measure the light or position of a scene.

10.What is exposure compensation?

Exposure compensation helps with making the camera scene lighter or darker.

Simulator

The simulator helps me understand the significance of exposure and how the different modes (shutter speed, F-stop, and ISO) come to play when trying to focus your camera. It is important to modify them for focus purpose based on preference or the scene. This can replicate how to use exposure changes in person without the need for a camera. This simulator can help with muscle memory so you can get faster at predicting settings when taking photos. You can also test how the settings are relevant to different environments.
